Alan Walker has toured with some of pop music’s top stars including Rihanna and Justin Bieber. The Norwegian producer now employs a classic case of supply and demand for his own tour by teaming up with the Monster Energy Up & Up Festival to crowdfund four college shows this fall.
Whichever four colleges pre-purchase the most tickets in 48 hours, win. Steven Ljubicic, Up & Up Festival’s co-creator, says in a statement, “We cover the major cost expenditures for the schools who most demand him — talent fees, riders, production and security costs.”
“I’m looking forward to performing on The Monster Energy Up & Up Festival this year,” Walker tells Billboard. “I really like the concept behind it, and it’s going to be fun to follow the contest and see the engagement from students who want to bring the show to their campus. Excited to see who will end up on top!”
